Christmas Vacation!
I took the week between Christmas and New Year's off because Mark, Grete and Tierney were coming for almost a full week!! Hooray! The kids were VERY excited to rip the last chain off our Tierney chain before her arrival. They came into town on Monday, Christmas Eve, and we may have overwhelmed poor Tierney the first day. So many new faces and so many new noises! But she did great!
We went to church at 6:30 and to the Osborn's Christmas party after that. Church was...okay. We went to Catholic church, which is fine but we got there late so we had to sit in the overflow seating which was so very bright and had more than a couple naughty children just running around. I don't know. They just didn't play a lot of Christmas songs, which is always my favorite part. And it was just so bright and I am used to going to the late service where they sing beforehand by candlelight but with small children that service is NOT a good idea ;). The biggest fail of the evening that I didn't get a family picture of us in our Christmas outfits :(.
Also, if we had gone to the late service, we wouldn't have been able to spend as much time at the Osborn's party! They always do such a great job and don't mind when our ever expanding family comes and invades their home. The food is always delicious and I pretty much stuff myself the entire evening. Isla did great of course because she was constantly being held. Carter was pretty well-behaved too. Generally hanging out with 'the boys' down in the basement. Much better than two years ago when I lost track of him for like 2 seconds and he had taken all of the bottom ornaments off their tree and arranged them by color on the floor :).

We headed home around 9:30 or 10:00. Carter was excited to put out cookies for Santa and we left carrots and lettuce for the reindeer outside. He opened 1 present before bed and was so excited he didn't even care that they were just jammies :). He went to bed easily knowing that he had to be asleep before Santa would come.

Christmas Morning/Day!
Carter woke up around normal time Christmas morning ~ 7 or so. I was so excited about all the presents under the tree! Isla wasn't up yet so we tortured him by only letting him open his stocking until Isla was awake. Luckily for Carter, Isla woke up about 5 minutes later. But she was a little cranky so this is the best shot I got of them Christmas morning
Carter = Ecstatic! Isla = Not so much
We opened gifts at our house before heading over to my folks for another round of gifts. This is what my parent's family room looked like post gift opening! We went to Matt's parents around lunch time and had gift opening with Auntie Lisa via Skype! So Fun! We had a wonderful lunch and a low key afternoon. Before heading back to the craziness that is my parent's house.
