The past month we have been celebrating Halloween with a lot of fun activities. The first weekend in October we traveled to the pumpkin patch! Would you believe it was 80 degress the day we went!? Totally crazy, we felt a little strange that we were in tank tops and shorts for the pumpkin patch but it was such a beautiful day we couldn't resist. Carter loved seeing all the pumpkins in the patch but all he could talk about was the pumpkin guts he walked through and how 'oo ee' it was :). He also had fun riding the train and riding the pony all.by.himself! He was so brave and I could't believe how big he has gotten. Don't believe me?! Check out the pics below!
We also went to the Family Museum for the Scarecrow Shennigans. Carter and Addison wore their Halloween shirts and we painted pumpkins, made slime, a finger pencil and colored a haunted house. We also watched my cousin Hannah dance with her dance troop. All the girls did a great job and were dressed as cute monsters. Carter kept saying he wasn't scared of the mosters and 'more dance.' He also went on stage with Hannah to dance the Monster Mash!! It was a fun day!
The Thursday before Halloween we decided it would be good time to carve the pumpkins we picked at the patch. We thought Carter would have a great time carving the pumpkins and getting all the guts out. Apparently.not. Matt took the top of the first pumpkin off and Carter ran out of the kitchen crying! He wouldn't even get close to the guts because they were 'too yucky.' He did like watching Daddy carve a spider on one pumpkin (his choice) and a scary face on the other (Daddy's choice). He also liked putting the lid on pumpkins. Once they were all cleaned out of course!
On Saturday, we went to Boo at the Zoo! It was a lot busier this year since we went on Saturday vs. Sunday but we had a great time. Unfortunately, Addison and Gus couldn't be there because Ryan's Grandpa Meyer passed away but Grandma Judy bought a pink monkey and blue giraffe for them so they didn't miss all the fun :). Carter said his favorite part was riding the train and we sang 'Casey Junior' when it came to pick us up. He also liked the lions and remembered the next day that 'Simba' was licking 'Nala's' face and ears.
After the zoo, we went over to my parent's house for lunch and to watch the Iowa game. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.
Sunday was the Halloween parade! It was also cold and rainy :(. But since we are pros at going to parades the rain, we decided to go. The only good thing about the rain was that there weren't a lot of people there so we got a lot of candy! No pics due to the rain though.
Monday was Halloween!! And it couldn't have been a more beautiful day! I took the day off and worked out with my mom while Carter hung out with Papa Dave. Then the rest of the day I played with my man Carter! Love.days.off. We even went to the park before trick-or-treating started. Carter was SO excited to go trick-or-treating this year! And Hayden joined us. He totally got it and after mommy's help for the first couple of houses, he loved ringing the doorbells and saying 'trick-or-treat.' We have so much candy it is ridiculous but we had a great time.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
