Here is what Brea Jean has been up to:
Nicknames: We are still stuck on Brea Tortilla...I have now gotten pretty much everyone in my family to call her that - ha! But we also will call her by her full name, Brea Jean.
Biggest Achievement: Giggling and rolling from back to belly
After she rolled over for the first time...not sure what to do now!
Biggest Challenge: 4 Month Sleep Regression! And battling a bad cold
Had to sleep upright like the elephant man :/
Likes: Bath time, taking walks, her brother and sister, being talked to, and kicking her legs.
Smiles before bath
Dislikes: Mondays, evenings, nap time and bed time
Firsts: first time swinging, first time at the apple orchard, and first time at the pumpkin patch
Our fam at Stone's
Eating: Brea is drinking 5 ounce bottles during the day at Matt's parents and my parents. She is nursing around 20 minutes when she is with me. She is still eating every 2.5 to 3 hours but has stretched it to 4 if being held...then she doesn't 'notice' it has been that long between feedings.
Sleep: 4 month sleep regression is no joke! She is having trouble settling at night. I nurse her in her room and she falls asleep. She is OUT but without fail ten minutes she is up crying. Sometimes we can get her back down while other times she is up for awhile. I have tried getting her to bed earlier, making her stay awake and going to bed later. We haven't been successful with anything yet. This is terrible because I prefer to start my homework the kids are asleep and starting papers at 9 o'clock at night just doesn't do it for me. She is still generally getting up a couple times at night. Once for a paci insert and the next for a feed. Then the other night, I was up until midnight finishing a paper and Brea got up at 2:30 to feed and then proceeded to cry on and off until 7 o'clock in the morning. OMG! It was horrible! Here's hoping for better nights to come!
The Superficial: Brea is wearing 3-6 month clothes and size 1 diapers. She still has blue eyes. Her hairline is so random. She has a little hair on top and hair at the bottom in the back but almost no hair in the middle. She is constantly moving her head when she is laying on her back so I know that is where this hairline comes from. Her hair sometimes looks reddish in certain lights and seems to curl a little when I brush it after bath. Not getting my hopes up for a curly, red-headed child but I am excited to see what it will look like.
Personality: This past month has been a little tough for Miss Brea. She has been very hot and cold. She was either a very happy and giggly little girl or a very cranky, crabby, crying little baby. There was not much in between. Hopefully, this is just because she is a baby still trying to figure life out and not a sign of her future personality ;). She found her voice and likes to chat, squeal, and complain. Girlfriend can be very loud when she wants to be :).
Sibling Comparisons: Well, Pukey McPukerson gets compared to Carter a lot due to the frequency of her vomiting. You have to have a burp cloth near by if you are holding Brea. She still looks more like Carter to me but I would say that she is a good mix between Carter and Isla.
Due to some insurance issues, Brea got behind on her 2 month shots by about 2 weeks so she will be a little late with her 4 month appointment as well. I'll update her stats when she goes in. Other than that we are loving having Brea in our lives but also had forgotten how challenging a baby can be :). Matt and I will have these moments where we look at each other like 'can you believe we have 3 kids?!' The answer is no! We also reflect on how lucky and blessed we are to have our 3 kids...they are really good kids!
4 Month Stats:
Weight: 13 pounds 10 ounces = 37th percentile
Height: 25 inches = 65th percentile:
Head Circumference: 41 centimeters = 39th percentile
