Weekend Wrap Up!

Another great weekend has come and gone. Friday was our anniversary, obviously :), so Matt and I took his parents up on their offer to watch Carter Man while we went to dinner. We had a great dinner at Thunder Bay (the sight of our rehearsal dinner 5 years ago) and had a wonderful meal complete with dessert! After dinner we picked up Carter and heading to North for the baseball team's first playoff game. I don't know that I mentioned this on the old blog but Carter has LOVED going to Cory's baseball games this summer. He loves to listen to the music between the innings - especially if they play Mack's song - and play with the other kids. Cory even gave him a baseball! If you ask Carter what Cory sits on during the game he will reply, "a green bucket!" Which is true :). Unfortunately North couldn't hold off Clinton and ended up losing :(. Which is disapointing but North had a great season and a lot to be proud of!

Saturday morning Carter went to play with the kids while I worked out. Matt's been very busy at home and I hope to dedicate a post to him once the project is complete - stay tuned! This weekend and all next week we are supposed to have a huge heat wave so we thought we would try to beat the heat by going to the pool right after workout on Saturday.

What we didn't anticipate was that the clouds would roll in and the temperature would drop to 79 degrees! We swam anyway and it was nice because we were practically the only ones there! We went home for lunch and naps and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon.

Sunday was a BIG day! We planned to take the kids to their first movie, Cars 2!! They had a showing at 9:45 am, which we thought would be perfect since it fell before nap time. May how times have changed! The kids did great and sat throught most of the movie and didn't make any noise. We were a little nervous because the movie was almost 2 hours long and I know that they were expecting to go and see the original Cars :). But we were armed with candy and snacks and apparently bath room breaks. Both Carter and Addison got up twice to use the restroom and thought it was the best.thing.evah! We made it through and had a great time. We may even take them to see Winnie the Pooh when it comes out!
