6 Month Check Up!

Carter had his 6 month well visit today (yes, it was late again) and he did pretty good. Grandma met us there with Mr. Man and stayed for the visit :). Everything looked good and Carter Man is a happy, healthy boy! He even showed off his new-found babbling skills with the nurse - too cute. He was very well-behaved playing with the paper on the exam room table - isn't it amazing what kids find interesting/fun?!. He was not thrilled about getting 5 shots! Poor thing had two shots in each leg and one was given to him orally. And boy did he cry! Big crocodile tears! He settled down fairly quickly although did not smile at any of the ladies on the way out but rather leered at them as if to say, "you know what you did!"

Hopefully, he will tolerate the shots well and I know that Grandma Judy will be cuddling him this afternoon. And he gets to meet his Auntie Megan tonight so that will certainly brighten his day!

And now the stats!

• Weight = 17 lbs. 4 oz. - 50th percentile
• Height = 26 3/4 inches - 60th percentile! My man is gettin' tall :)
• Head Circumference = 43 1/8 centimeters - 50th percentile

The nurse practitioner called his growth chart beautiful :).

Okay, so we all know who Carter looks like right?! The nurse practitioner greeted Carter with "Could you look any more like your dad?! You could be him for Halloween!" But in case we needed any more proof the nurse found some today. She was looking Carter over and he has a dark spot on his tummy to the left of his belly button. He has had it as long as I can remember and just assumed it to be a birthmark, which is what is looks like. But the nurse said that because it was a long the nipple line it could be some of that skin that grew there (she had a very technical/medical name for it but I don't have time to google it). I mentioned that Matt also had something like that on his stomach and she said, "well there you go!"

So there you have it Matt has passed down his "third nipple" to Carter - ha! It is not actually a third nipple but just a dark patch of skin...well I'll just let Chandler explain it.

Ginger: What's that?
Chandler: That's, that's my nubbin.
Ginger: What's a nubbin?
Chandler: It's kinda a ah, a third nipple kinda thing.
Ginger: You have three nipples?
Chandler: Well, you know two regulars. And ah one that barely qualifies

Chandler: Why yes Ross. Pressing my third nipple, it opens the delivery entrance to the magical land of Narnia.
