6 Months!

My baby is six.months.old.today! Half a year, 6 months, 26 weeks, 182 days... however you want to look at it my baby is growing up! And he is just so much fun! I just love his age right now because he isn't quite mobile (although he has been rolling all over the place), he talks and belly laughs and is almost always in a good mood. Sometimes I wonder how I can love him anymore and then you know what?! I do. Other than going by too fast, these past 6 months have been challenging and amazing, tiring and fun, crazy and frustrating at times, happy and full of love...

So Carter Man, Happy 6 Months and this is what you've been up to:

  • You like watching people. Anyone. And are very content taking in the world around you
  • You love to belly laugh and usually do it if mama tickles your Buddha belly or any repetition of any word or sentence
  • You love sweet potatoes and are still a messy eater
  • You starting using a sippy cup of water - sometimes drinking and sometimes just chewing on the spout
  • You are usually a good sleeper...that is when you are not teething then you are NOT a good sleeper
  • You like playing with Addison and Gavin who let you taste their fingers...mmm delicious
  • You like the car often just sitting quietly and staring out the window - sometimes I look back just to make sure you are there :)
  • You are very happy when you wake up and I know when you are done sleeping because you will look up at me and smile
  • Although this can be frustrating when you need to nap and I lay you down only to have you smile at me as if to say, "don't waste your time ma. I'm not sleepy yet!" Little Stinker :)
  • You like bath time! You no longer will sit in your "baby" tub so you have to take baths with mom or dad until you are better at sitting up. You love to splash and grab for your rubber ducky.
  • When you are really excited you kick your legs!
  • You know your name and will look up when you hear it
  • You continue to use your voice usually shrieking at the top of your lungs...we believe you may be spending too much time with Addison - just kidding Katie!
  • You are usually a laid back, happy, cool dude and we love you very much!!

"It won’t be like this for long. One day soon we'll look back laughin'. At the week we brought him home. This phase is gonna fly by. So baby just hold on. ‘Cause it won't be like this for long."
