Yet another month has gone bye and now Carter Man is 19 months old!! I just don't know how that happened :). Over the weekend, someone asked Matt how old Carter was and Matt replied, "19 months." I thought to myself, "why would Matt say that! Carter is only 18 months!" Then I realized that October was almost over and Carter would be 19 months in a few short days....crazy!!
- He has decided that he hates to go down for bed at night. My sweet boy that you could just lay down and not hear a peep out of is totally gone! We have even started watching some Sesame Street before bed to see if that helps. It is a habit he has at my mom's before naptime however, it does not work at night....hopefully this is just a phase!
- He is getting all of his teeth! He got his teeth really early (6 months) but then slowed down a bit. For the longest time he had his top and bottom front four and his molars so he had a cute gap between his teeth. That gap is filling in!
- He went pee pee on the potty at my parent's house the other day! He even remembered to "point it down." (boy moms will know what I am talking about)
- He is using more and more words - bike, wow!, up, windy, and whoa just to name a few.
- I was calling downstairs for Matt the other day when Carter went over to the baby gate and yelled, "Matt." So now sometimes he calls Matt "Matt" instead of "daddy." Ha!
- He pumps his fists in the air during the "FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT" part of the Iowa Fight Song - we are singing it a lot this time of year! He also knows who Herky is and can point out a Hawkeye!
- He loves to dump everything out of baskets, tubs, etc. He doesn't think it is as much fun putting things back in although he will do it :)
- He hates wearing his hat...we are working on it since over the winter he WILL be wearing a hat
- He started calling my dad and Matt's dad "Papa."
- His eating habits are still inconsistent and I am still trying not to stress about it
- He continues to be nukie free! He pointed to his nuk the other day so I gave it to him to see what he would do. He stuck it in his mouth then quickly pulled it out and looked at it like, "gross!"
- He will do the most random things that make me think "how the heck do you know that?!" Like this morning. I was dropping him off at Matt's parents and he pointed to a picture on the fridge and said, "Maggie." Maggie is Matt's sister Lisa's dog and even though he has never met Maggie Matt's parents have a "Maggie" stuffed dog that Carter likes to carry around. I couldn't believe that he made the connection - silly man!
- Addison taught him how to do a somersault. He randomly did one on the couch tonight and Matt asked him, "have you ever done that before?" Carter answered, "no." :)
It is an extra special day for the Tiemeier side of the family because today is Auntie Jo's birthday!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOANNA!
And! Two years ago today we welcomed a little peanut home :).
