Carter went in for his 12 month well-visit on Wednesday. He is healthy man! Just a little on the petite side :). He did really well at his visit. Playing with another little boy in the waiting room and showed off his walking skills and loud voice to the Doctor. He did have to get two shots and he was NOT happy about it. Big.crocodile.tears :(. But the worst part of the day was when he had to have his bloodn draw to check for lead and hemoglobin levels (evidently a standard procedure at 12 months).
First, the
vampire phlebotomist had to warm up his fingers with a heating pad evidently it makes the blood flow better. Having a 12 month old sit still while some stranger is holding his hand was a challenge in and of itself. And then she took two vials of blood from his finger. :( Carter cried the entire time. How sad is that? So sad. Luckily, he got to go to Grandma Judy's for some TLC and a much needed nap.
Carter also had his one year pictures taken Wednesday night - not a good idea! A toddler that had shots and only one nap! He was such a crab and cried the entire time he was covered in cake. He DID NOT like being dirty. Once he was cleaned up and on our way him he was smiling and laughing - little stinker!
Okay, okay without further ado - 12 month stats!
- Weight: 20 pounds 15 ounces - 25th percentile
- Height: 27 7/8 inches - 5th percentile
- Head Circumference: 46 centimeters - 40th percentile
